William James absolutely understood one of the most important realities of positive human interaction with the above concept. The fact is that if all we did each day was take the time to feed someone’s craving to be appreciated by acknowledging them sincerely in some way we would have stronger relationships than we ever dreamed.
The problem for most of us is that we spend too much time seeking to have our own craving for appreciation fed and not enough time giving that wonderful experience to others.
